Arruí

"Ammotragus lervia"

Straw color. They do not have a beard like goats, but have a well-developed mane from the throat to the chest and upper part of the front legs. The horns are more similar to those of turkeys or barals than to those of goats. The area of distribution is North Africa, in Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Mali, Algeria, Niger, Chad and Sudan. Introduced in Sierra Espuña (Spain) and Texas (United States).

Arruí of Nubia

"Ammotragus lervia blainei"

The Nubian roan differs somewhat in the color of the coat, being perhaps somewhat darker in some areas of the body. It lives in the Nubian desert, in the Red Sea hills of southeastern Sudan.

Mountain Niala

"Tragelaphus buxtoni"

Large antelope resembling the kudu. Spiral horns smaller than the kudu, which give one or two turns, with the tips sometimes diverging. 

It is endemic to Ethiopia, in the Chercher and Din Din mountains and to the south in the Arussi and Bale mountains. In the dense forest at altitudes from 2000 to 4000 meters above sea level.

Arabian Tar

"Arabitragus jayakari"

It is the smallest of the tar. Of brownish coat, with rough and abundant hair that goes down to the carpus. With a long dark mane on the back. 

Horns similar to the Himalayan tar, less marked growth medrons on the upper keel and more slender.

It inhabits the northern coastal strip of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Chanler's redundancy

"Redunca fulvorufula chanleri"

Smaller than the southern mountain redunca and more greyish in fur, with a reddish head and neck. 

Distribution area in Ethiopia, eastern Kenya, north-eastern Tanzania and Uganda, and south-eastern Sudan.

Mountain redundancy

"Redunca fulvorufula fulvorufula"

It is the largest of the mountain reduncas and has a more reddish colour. 

It inhabits eastern South Africa from the Limpopo, Natal, Orange Free State and the Eastern Cape.

Valrehbok

"Pelea capreolus"

Grey body with white underparts, large, round and glandular nose. 

Thin, vertical and parallel horns, with rings at the base. It lives in South Africa in the Cape Provinces.

Ethiopian Ibex

"Capra wallia"

Dark in colour, with a distinctive black stripe on the front of the legs, interrupted by a white patch on the knees and on the hoof. Scimitar-shaped horn with crests. 

It is endemic to the Simien Mountains of Ethiopia.

Bedén or Nubian ibex

"Capra nubiana"

Somewhat smaller in size than other ibexes, with a light straw colour. Males have long, dark beards. Scimitar-shaped horns, forming a semicircle towards the back, and have marked crests.

It lives in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, Oman, Israel, Jordan, Eritrea and Sudan.
